Entry #9- Organic vs. Industrial

The industrial food industry is a controversial topic in many American households. More specifically, the homes of farmers and other food producers. Many believe that industrial  food industry is a way of harm into the natural forces of nature, and others believe that it may be the only way to feed our world. With increasing numbers in the population food is feared to become scares due to this increase. Others believe that by growing organically it will not only save the land, but the products being produced, and restore the livestock on family farms and other small farming businesses. 

In this image of propaganda the industrialized production of chicken is being criticized. The person in this image appears to be startled by the chicken coming from the can. Here the industrialization of protein production is critically damaged. It sends a message to the public to be scared of this new implication of food production. The production being proceeded this way, alerts families to be cautious of the food they eat. 

The advertisement favors the original or organic way of production. This stance in the food industry is highly controversial in the publics eyes as well. As the production of these products are more expensive because they take longer to grow and are limited in resources. 

Overall the food industry is controversial in many way. In this piece of propaganda it is clear that the author is on the side of organic growing. What side are you on?

A controversial topic arises when discussing the validity of sports and what they mean by definition. Well many would like to say that contact and competition are what make up good sport. Others might mention the sportsmanship, and teamwork that comes with being involved in a group sport. These factor are all involved in a sport that I have dedicated 9 years of my life to. That sport is all-star competitive cheerleading. Many would like to argue that there is not physical contact involved invalidating its standing as a "real sport". However, there are unfortunately many accidents in cheerleading due to the contact involved with the sport. Ranging from serious injuries involving broken bones, torn muscles, tendons, and ligaments. As well as dislocations of joints and concussions. I myself have even experienced some of these injuries multiple times due to this sport.
