Entry# 0- Battle Of The Blogs

Have you ever wondered what blog is more your style? Sure, Buzzfeed probably has a quiz for you, but this blog might show you what kind of blog is more your style. We’ll explore why some people might find a fashion blog, Vogue.co.uk, over a celebrity gossip, TMZ,  blog more entertaining, and what makes each of these blogs unique. Whether you are a gossip guru, or a fashionista this blog will give you a fresh perspective. Let’s get started!

Vouge is reputably known as a fashion and life style magazine/website where anyone who wants to be anyone can go to look for the latest fashion trends and topics. Vouge reputably has many celebrity features. Inclusions ranging from actors, models, singers, and athletes. One of these celeberties includes Rihanna who, if you are unaware, is a singer, producer, song writer, fashion designer, model among many other qualities and occupations that has elevated her status in today's media.

Vouge often focuses on the most recent fashion trends and their blog about future on trends to come in 2025 does not fall short of this expectation.

While promoting beauty and fashion standards, it informs its audience of the specific trends that are likely to appear in fashion in the near future. It also provides examples and explanations on why these trends are set to be outstanding representations of fashion in the upcoming months, and is done so in a way to attract customers to purchase these products making these trends a reality.

1- The Vogue blog takes the time to organize the recent fashion trends for this upcoming year according to their standards and predictions. They hyperlink images of the described fashion trends and take time to check grammar and punctuation when developing their points on why these new fashion trends are set to be true for the upcoming year. This is done so that the authors, Laird Borrelli-Persson, Alice Cary Mia Portet, can portray their opinion, and the company's opinion, onto the fashion industry and the consumers purchasing products from Vogue. This blog is also aimed to entertain its readers by providing new ideas and styles for the upcoming year to include them on the latest trends.

2- Infographics, Marketing, and Listicles. Vogue may include these formats because they enable a deeper connection to the readers, provide visual stimulation and correlation to their products and the audience, and allow for the audience to discuss the results of their blog to hopefully gain attention and purchases from others.

Similarly to Vogue, TMZ is also reputably known for discussing celebrities, and delving into the drama and untold truths or secrets behind the people we admire in todays social world. In this particular blog TMZ writers discuss Priest Holmes. A well known former Kansas City Chiefs player who was a running back for the Chiefs where he played 7 out of his 11 season career.

Taking time to inform the audience of his statistics during his career, communicate a true narrative of why the relationship between Priest Holmes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the  NFL launched his career in football. This is done because the author is wanting to inform the audience, sport fans, that the Chiefs were essential to Holmes’s career, and update them on his current status.
However, TMZ accomplishes this in such a brief blog that it leaves audience members wondering more about who Priest Holmes really was in terms of stardom during his time on the field.

TMZ's authors including vital formatting techniques to accomplish informational and entertainment tactics to connect the audience to their topic. These purposes are demonstrated in “Kansas City Chiefs Player Priest Holmes 'Memba Him?!”  allow for a deeper connection with the audience in order to inform them on the past of Holmes, and his criteria that connects him to the Kansas City Chiefs. It also aims to entertain by the usage of some slang, sports terms, and accomplishment references that spark the image of Holmes into the blog's readers.

While both blogs offer valuable insights, whether you are looking for fashion advice or the latest    celebrity drama, Vogue.co.uk stands out for its user-friendly design to keep the audience engaged among many other factors. TMZ, although entertaining, falls short in terms of relatability by not providing enough information on Holmes and leaving audience members wondering and seeking more about the pro-athlete. In the end, Vouge provides a more amusing experience for its readers compared to TMZ's " 'Memba Him?!" post.

  1. I really liked the layout of your blog. TMZ usually does that to keep readers scrolling on their page for hours.
