Prom. A supposedly joyful event that is an opportunity for many teenagers to get dressed up and go to a school dance. However, demonstrated by Dean Winters, a demonstration of affection towards a person in asking them to prom can lead to mayhem that someone wasn't expecting. In this case the boy in the advertisement has et candles out in the text "Prom?" has caught the girls house on fire. Leading to unexpected damages and expenditures for the house.

This ad plays into the everyday chaos of life, showing how unpredictable events can lead to a need for insurance.

In this case the advertisement is beneficial in showcasing the need to be prepared in the event of the unexpected. it also appeals to a comedic aspect as the actors seem to expect this outcome from the boy. As well as the relaxation that is demonstrated from the other actors provide comedic relief to a sensitive topic of house fires. The humor and background of this ad can provide relatability to a multitude of audience members who have experienced a promposal.

The tone in this case of the house fire is a mixture of playful and serious. This allows for Allstate to create a balance between entertainment and the necessity for their insurance policy. 

The organization of this advertisement also demonstrates a sense of control. Allstate is able to relate this control through the chronological events within their ad. The calmness and excitement before the fire begins between the two teens in the beginning of the scene. That then transitions flawlessly in to the house slowly burning due to the candles catching some dry leaves on fire. This structure of clam in the face of disaster allows Allstate to maintain that they have homeowners backs with their policies.
